“Like the cycles of the Earth, Felbm’s compositions unfold at their own pace, always moving, yet never in a rush. Documenting the subtle shifts in the seasons, he creates a contemplative space where music isn’t just something we hear, but something we inhabit” – OBJECTS AND SOUNDS

“Since 2020 Felbm’s music has become increasingly organic – finding him making extensive use of field recordings. The results more fluid, genre-wise less easy to pin down. ECM’s blend of folk, jazz and new age / deep listening, is perhaps the best comparison” – BAN BAN TON TON

“One of the most unashamedly beautiful records out now; it is, at times, so gorgeous that it breaks your heart. cycli infini spirals in and out of genres—minimalism, gagaku, new age, ambient, jazz, fourth world—all while remaining completely intact” – AQUARIUM DRUNKARD

Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of the natural world, Dutch artist Felbm creates instrumental music that seamlessly blends acoustic and electronic sounds into captivating compositions. Since his debut in 2018 with the Tape series on Soundway Records, the project has earned international recognition for its subtle, delicate textures and rhythms, effectively balancing stillness and movement.

With the releases Elements of Nature (2021) and cycli infini (2023), Felbm began to center nature and its constant metamorphosis as the primary inspiration for his work. Elements of Nature was shaped by the landscape and sounds of the monastery where he spent a two-week residency, capturing the essence of the environment. The long-form composition cycli infini delved into the concept of repetition, exploring the recurring patterns that define the natural world and our perception of it.

His upcoming album, winterspring/summerfall, continues this exploration. Set for release in May 2025, the album reflects the changing seasons through a refined blend of organic instrumentation, intertwined with field recordings. Over the course of a year, Felbm kept a journal of his observations of nature, culminating in an 80-minute, timeless suite. This expansive work will be performed live with a trio featuring double bass, piano, and flute, giving audiences the chance to experience these seasonal reflections in real-time.
