President Bongo & The Emotional Carpenters are back for a new tour in November 2016 to perform the mesmerising Serengeti A/V live set.

Serengeti is a multi-layered project where many artists put their hands on the wheel but with one art-director so that in the end we have a solid finished product.
The Emotional Carpenters, as PB prefers to call the people he has worked with during the last two decades, are from all espects of the industry: directors, designers, musicians, writers.. etc.
The idea of the Serengeti is to brake away from traditional ‘solo’ project and embrace the working relationships, make everyone shine within their expertise. Here we tell a story, both visual and musical about the wind directions on the Serengeti national park in Africa, about the day routine, sunrise and sunset, about love and hunger, life & death. The Serengeti project was relased via AlbumLabel 16.oct 2015 and immediately got worldwide recognition for having a new, fresh angle on “dance” music, mixing kraut rock, african rhythms and jazz in a fusion suitable for jazz clubs, african basements and modern clubs as well as being a project with strong conceptional understanding.
Stephan Stephensen aka President Bongo wears many hats, but likes to refer to himself as ‘an emotional carpenter’. And the name is fitting: throughout his illustrious career, Bongo has built, tooled, shaped and reconstructed reality in a manner that has touched upon the emotional spheres of thousands, greatly increasing their quality of life and inner harmony in the process.
President Bongo began properly mastering his craft as a founding member of the pioneering electronic band GusGus, which has steadily gone from strength to strength since forming in 1995. As GusGus evolved and progressed through the years Bongo remained a key element, making innumerable contributions to its ongoing success through his work, which ranged from design, film & photography to singing, songwriting & production.

In spring 2015 President Bongo left GusGus to concentrate on his own solo career and now releases the project “Serengeti” via AlbumLabel in October 2015
